La talla 38 me aprieta el chocho

Madrid, 2016
The workshop proposes to explore the formal, material, and political conditions of the apparently neutral and deactivated celebrations commonly known as “BBC” (weddings, baptisms and communions in Spanish) intending to study whether their revision is possible.

We propose to determine which are the architectures these practices build, ultimately recognizing the potential of this type of events, usually considered tangent to the most classical discipline, for a critical architectural experimentation absent of prejudices.

The work in the workshop will consist of the design and construction of one festive space based on those controversies that have previously been detected, and that ultimately articulate the architectures of this type of events, in search of possible alternative scenarios: gender roles, exclusive aesthetics, food sovereignty, use of GMOs, animal rights, transportation and CO2 emissions, religious beliefs, but also the use of color, the creation of desire, practices of rupture, etc., etc., etc.
